Vodafone’s new Rs 399 plan: 90GB of 4G data for 3 months, unlimited voice

Vodafone launches new data plan with more data benefits.

Vodafone has introduced a new data plan under which it offers 90GB of 4G data for six months and unlimited voice calls at Rs 399. The plan competes with a similar offer by Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel.
While some media reports say that the Rs 399 data plan is only available to prepaid users, a Vodafone customer care executive told HT that the company is offering a similarly-priced plan for postpaid users.
For Rs 499 (Rs 100 discount), postpaid customers will get 15GB of data for six months. Also, it’s not a segmented offer, which essentially means any postpaid user can avail this plan. Interested customers can call at 9582566666 for more information.
Customers, who have received the SMS notification about the plan, will need to apply within 48 hours of receiving the message to activate the plan, the customer care executive said.
For prepaid customers, Vodafone is offering 1GB of 4G data per day with three months validity. This translates into 90GB of data for 90 days (30GB of data per month). According to Sanay Baffna, who keeps a track of the telecom industry, the validity of Rs 399 plan may vary between 84 days and 90 days depending upon the circle.Vodafone’s new data plan comes after Reliance Jio introduced its Rs 399 Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, under which users can get a 100% cashback in the form of eight vouchers of Rs 50 denomination.
To apply for this, Jio customers need to recharge till October 18. Note that customers can use the vouchers against the minimum recharge of Rs 309 and data top-ups of at least Rs 91.
Airtel is giving 84GB of 4G data (1GB data per day) for 84 days under its Rs 399 plan. This also includes unlimited voice calls. Airtel’s Rs 399 plan, however, is a segmented offer which means it is available to select users.
