NEW DELHI: Xiaomi, the Chinese tech firm that launched its first ever Android One smartphone in India, the Mi A1, is rolling out the device globally. The smartphone has started rolling out to countries outside India as promised by the firm at the time of introducing the dual rear camera handset.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 availability for now is limited to Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Interested buyers around the globe can pre order the Xiaomi Mi A1 from the company's own website.

For those in India, some of the local online and offline stores from where it can be purchased include Flipkart, UniverCell, Croma, Sangeetha and E-Zone. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is priced at Rs 14,999.

The 6GB RAM+64GB Black coloured variant is priced at RMB 2499 while the 6GB RAM+128GB Black coloured variant costs RMB 2899. The third variant is the same as the 128GB model but in Blue colour. It costs RMS 2,999.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat and comes with pure Android UI onboard. It ditches the MIUI interface, which the company has been touting in its handsets since years. Running Android One on the Mi A1 will result in quick OS updates, bug fixes and a clean interface. However, the Chinese tech firm has not yet gone the Lenovo way by ditching its UI completely. It has been also announced that the Mi A1 will be getting Android 8.0 Oreo and Android P as well.

Sporting a 5.5-inch full HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a full-metal body with rounded edges. Under the hood, there is a mid-range octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clubbed with 4GB RAM and Adreno 506 GPU.

The dual-rear camera of the smartphone consists of a 12MP wide angle and a 12MP telephoto lens for an improved bokeh effect in portrait shots. The telephoto lens enabled 2x optical zoom. This pairs with Mi A1's 10x digital zoom. Some of the camera features users will get include Beautify 3.0, Portrait Mode, HDR and more. At the front, the smartphone has a 5MP camera.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 supports 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, hybrid SIM card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS and Bluetooth. It is backed by a 3080mAh battery and has a fingerprint sensor at the back.

Xiaomi says the Mi A1 has a dedicated headphone amplifier with support for up to 600Ohm. It is 7.3mm thin and comes in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colour variants.
