NEW DELHI: HMD Global re-launched the Nokia 3310 this year with upgraded features alongside the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3. Although it boasted of features, it lacked 3G connectivity support. The feature phone entered India in May this year at Rs 3310. However, soon enough rumours started brewing up for its 3G variant. And now, HMD Global's chief product officer, Juho Sarvikas has made the device official.

The Nokia 3310 3G variant will be made available starting in Australia from mid-October. The firm has not yet revealed the India price and availability for the 3G variant.

Nokia 3310 3G will be available in four colours - Yellow, Warm Red, Azure and Charcoal. The feature phone is rated to deliver up to 27 days of standby time and 6.5 hours of talk time.

Sarvikas tweeted the news saying that, "In February you asked for it. We got to work @nokiamobile and here it is. Iconic #nokia3310 now in 3G!" The feature phone sports the same look as the original one except for 3G connectivity support.

"HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, introduces the Nokia 3310 3G Nokia 3310 3G. With fresh new colours and a new user interface that lets fans pick a theme to suit their mood, this modern classic is now 3G enabled and can be enjoyed in even more countries around the world. And yes, it still has Snake," says the blog post.

The Nokia 3310 3G is said to come with a price tag of 69 (roughly Rs 5,300).

Like the previous version, the Nokia 3310 3G runs Series 30+ operating system and features a 2.4-inch QVGA (240x320 pixels) display. The dual-SIM handset sports a 2MP camera along with 16MB inbuilt storage. The storage can however, be expanded using a microSD card up to 32GB. It is backed by a 1200mAh battery.
