The tech giant has announced the launch of a smart denim jacket called Commuter Trucker Jacket in partnership with Levi's. This jacket can provide directions and read your texts to you when you are performing an action such as swiping the sleeve. For this jacket to do these activities, you need to have your phone and jacket in close range. You should also wear a pair of headphones that will be connected to your phone.

The Google and Levi's jacket is aimed at the cyclists who might need someone to read a message when they are riding or want to be connected while they are commuting. The sensors will be embedded into the sleeve of the Commuter Trucker Jacket and will vibrate and glow when there is an incoming text. You can have the jacket read the text by just tapping or swiping the cuff. You can also increase or reduce the volume of the music or skip tracks via the jacket. This jacket uses the Jacquard smart clothing platform created by Google. The software is built using Google's Advanced Technology and Projects unit. Interestingly, this Google smart jacket is also washable. You can remove the tag that runs along the cuff of the jacket to wash this wearable accessory. The tag is the only one that will distinguish this jacket from the rest in the market.Having said that, this Google jacket is priced at $350 (approx. Rs. 23,000). While this pricing might set you back, it will be available for sale only via select high-end clothing boutiques in select cities such as Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and Boston starting from today. The wider launch of this jacket will happen sometime in the next week. Interested users can purchase the same via Levi's website or stores.
