MUMBAI: As part of its festive season offering, direct-to-home operator DishTV today said it has launched `HD for all initiative' that will give access to popular HD channels to its subscribers.

“Apple also doesn’t support modern surround sound standards like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, which place sound effects in 3D space around you,” said The Verge’s Nilay Patel in his Apple TV 4K review.

It has launched new HD set top box DishNXT HD, which aims to eliminate the SD- HD divide.


"HD space has been fast evolving, making significant in-roads into Indian households. With a sharp focus on HD, this move aims at bridging the gap between the SD and HD subscribers," DishTV Group Chief Executive Officer Anil Dua said.


VU launches three new Smart TV series, price starts at Rs 44,500

Television brand VU has introduced three new Smart TV series in its television segment -- the Pop Smart series, Office Smart series and the Premium Smart series.

"This launch of HD for all initiative and also the new DishNXT HD set top box will lead to a rapid rise in HD consumption. It will also encourage subsequent upgradation to full HD experience, thereby expanding overall HD viewership and boosting our revenues," he added.


At present, there are estimated 12.8 million HD households in the country.
