Reliance Jio's JioPhone is finally available for pre-bookings. The much-awaited 4G feature phone can now be pre-booked at Reliance Digital Stores as well as at other company-authorised stores.


Interested buyers can also pre-book the phone on the company's website as well as through its MyJio app. The deliveries for the phone will start in the first week of September. The company has announced that the device will be available at first-come-first-serve basis. 


Wondering how you can check the status of your booking and know the likely delivery time for the phone? The company has shared a number where you can call to check the status of your pre-booking. 

The company also shared this information on its official Twitter handle. According to a tweet, buyers can dial the number "18008908900"and check the status of their booking. Existing customers can also go to MyJio app and view status under Manage Voucher section, as per the tweet. 



The JioPhone is effectively priced at Rs 0, however, customers need to pay Rs 1500 as security deposit for the phone. This security deposit is refundable. However, users will get the same after a minimum period of three years. Of the Rs 1500, the Rs 500 need to be paid at the time of the booking, while remaining Rs 1000 need to be paid during the delivery of the phone.


Reliance Jio announced the JioPhone at the parent company's 40th annual general meeting (AGM) late last month. The phone was unveiled by the company's chairman Mukesh Ambani at the meeting.




Jio Phone sports a 2MP rear camera and a front-facing 0.3MP camera. As for the storage, the device includes 4GB inbuilt space, which can be expanded using a microSD card (up to 128GB). Backing the feature phone is a 2000mAh Li-Po battery that is claimed to deliver up to 12 hours of talk time and half a month of standby time on a single charge.
